A Documentary All About the Wedge

1 min read

The Wedge in Newport Beach, California is home to one of the world's craziest, most famous bodysurfing waves.  Director and producer Tim Burnham is putting together "Dirty Old Wedge" to show the world just how awesome bodysurfing at the Wedge really is.

Through a "Dirty Old Wedge" kickstarter campaign, the project is looking to spread awareness of the documentary.  According to the kickstarter campaign,  money pledged will be going to drone rentals, high-speed camera rentals, music licensing and more.

"'Dirty Old Wedge' is a documentary film that will showcase the history of the Wedge starting from its creation in the 1930's," the film's kickstarter campaign page states.  "A unique assemblage of bodysurfers, which has come to be known as the "Wedge Crew" will be one of the focal points of this film, highlighting the relationships with the wave and with one another."

With 21 days left to get their film fully funded, the documentary already has nearly 100 backers.  Prizes for pledging range from a high-five to a "Dirty Old Wedge" t-shirt to a pair of Viper Vector fins and a ticket to the premier of the "Dirty Old Wedge" film.

Check out their kickstarter video, or if you have the time, check out the Wedge yourself in Newport Beach.  Seeing the wild waves of the Wedge in person is unforgettable.
