Really do we have to wear clothes!?

In this day in age it’s expected that you wear clothes in the public form.

Never mind what happens behind clothes doors- or what those of us nudists believe.

It tends to freak people out when you’re not wearing clothes on a public street.  So if you have to wear clothes, you might as well wear some really well made, maybe a little funky, and ones that definitely have a story.  And with all that holiday money from your grandmother burning a hole in your pocket you might as well spend it on some new threads for the new year.

Lucky for you we have friends that own cool surf clothing brands

Cool stories, well made, and bonus they are all pretty ocean friendly (after all this is a surf companies blog).

Bonus: (now you have something to tell your hipster friends who are always nagging you about a cool brand, that they found in a basement in Brooklyn or San Francisco, that’s also made out of 600 thread count hemp cloth, and was started by a a guy that used to be in finance but found his calling in clothes after going on a walkabout).

URT URT Body surf inspired clothing

URT, the bark of a sea lion, as clear a summons to the water as the sound of breaking waves. It is for the few that gravitate towards this noise that we put a tide chart in each of our URT Shirts.
Now, go get in the water…
We are the amphibious.

Based in San Diego these guys are the bodysurfing kings/queens of clothing. No really- they are definitely the best clothing brand out there supporting the art of the bodysurfer. With cool taglines and illustrations on their clothes, events year round for the ocean lover, and sweet tide maps on the shirts they are the go to.

No really- Steve (Slyde owner/founder) wears them on the regular in and out of the water.

SALT SURF  The saltiest of sweet clothing

SALT SURF’s goal has always been to create something that people can connect with and see themselves in. It’s attempted to carve a niche in the market that is inclusive, open-minded and straightforward. Originally started in New York City in 2011, the aim was to deliver quality-made, progressive boards. At the time, SALT SURF was run entirely out of a single room that functioned as a studio, showroom, office and bedroom."

Since those early days, SALT SURF has grown out of that small studio, but still maintains it’s original surf inspired clothing vision. With boards made in California, and the founder himself a native Californian, SALT SURF is strongly influenced by New York and California cultures.”

Okay, so maybe we threw in a little city life from the east and the west coasts, but who can complain when you're buying the California dream. Not to mention the product has some clean lines, ridiculously soft fabrics, and it's got that worn in look we all strive for on the daily. P.s. they have some dreamy as f*** photos, and their canvas bags are perfect sized Slyde handboard + towel holders.

And for those of you that are over clothes and are on the no shoes no shirt no problem game- at least have the decency to protect your bum! Wear sunscreen and do it with a little love and a conscious...

RAW ELEMENTS: The best Sunscreen

RAW ELEMENTS USA ® Certified Natural Sunscreen was developed by Brian Guadagno, a 20 year Ocean Rescue Lifeguard, who was searching for a natural alternative to chemical sunscreens. RAW ELEMENTS USA sunscreen is gentle enough for use in infant care and meets the performance demands of the most extreme athletes.

We utilize a sustainable, recycled, Non Nano, uncoated Zinc Oxide as the sole Active Ingredient. This is delivered in a gentle, Certified Organic ingredient, Eco-Safe, Reef-Safe, Leaping Bunny - Cruelty Free certified, Non-GMO Project Verified, NPA Certified Natural formula.”

So essentially this is the sunscreen if you want to take care of mother earth and not be an ass****. Certified and Slyde tested.

No joke Steve and Ang use this stuff on the daily- and it protects in all waters, on land, and in snow (because winter is a season too). It’s made for the stoke users of all ages and shakers.

Of course the Ultimate Gear for 2016 must include the newly released Hawaiian Bula Enoka, most  advanced and performance driven handboard on the market!
