In the next month or so, the Slyde shop will be stocking what many consider to be one of the best fins in the world for bodysurfing. This is a huge statement, we know, but when you have the likes of the living legend Mark Cunningham backing that statement, you have to stand back and take notice! Don’t just take it from us.

Mark Cunningham reviews DaFins"DaFin is the only swim fin I use both professionally and for recreation. Power and comfort are the two utmost things I need in a pair of fins. DaFin delivers on both and more." Mark Cunningham:

Check out some of the best in the business giving their input for DaFins here.

About DaFin

The side rails --- the “strakes”--- on DaFins are rock solid but run only about halfway down the length of the fin where they then angle back to the blade. This forces the fin to flex right at this critical point. The raised V-shaped foot pocket, combined with a stiff blade working together at the point of flex creates the maximum acceleration of the water flowing over the fin surface, resulting in more thrust per kick with less effort. For such a powerful fin, it is unusually light in weight. DaFin floats in the ocean and there is no right or left foot difference, so DaFin can be worn on either foot.

DaFin is the #1 choice for lifeguards, bodysurfers, and top watermen around the world and is standard issue equipment for more than 60 municipal lifeguard and surf rescue agencies in the USA.

What We Like about DaFin:

  • They are designed with the bodysurfer in mind.
  • We love the comfort fit, the foot glove area is epically soft (unlike other brands).
  • Thrust due to the harder, yet still flexible blade with the side buckets make for incredible thrust.

As I have always said about fins, they are a very personal fit.  What one man considers a good fit may not be another's. Your perfect fin depends on sizing, fit and what the intended use is.  Primarily bodysurfing requires an entirely different fin function to the drop knee bodyboarder.  Read more about the fins here .You will probably go through a few fins before you find your favorite lifelong buddies. DaFins are a great place to start that search.
