Junior Ryder: Chloe "Coco" Torres Makes Team Slyde Captain

Junior Ryders: a subgroup of bodysurfers under 16 years old too young to drive, but amped to Slyde.

Chloe Bella Torres aka “Coco” puts Slyde Handboards in the fastlane, proving handplaning isn’t just for grownups.

About Coco:

While most 11-year-old girls are flocking to Justin Beiber’s tour bus and sharing skinny jeans, Coco Torres prefers to get shacked out of her brain on the beaches of Carolina Beach, North Carolina. 

She’s a third generation handboarder.  The watersport runs deep in her family roots, inspired by the handplane prowess of her father Alex Torres.

Like her favorite surfer Coco Ho, Coco Torres is racking up triumphs in the ocean at a very young age. She recently got 1^st place in the Junior Division at the Whomporama Bodysurf and Handplane Championships in NC: A fun annual contest with fierce competition to get the longest waves, the best line and the most maneuvers on their handboard. 

When she isn’t showing off her rockstar handboarding moves, Coco enjoys surfing, dancing and enthusiastically sharing her life's motto of  “rash guards and leotards”.

Slyde can’t wait to see Coco’s energy shine as our first honorary junior team ryder.
