The only exception being that the majority of Slyde Handboards Orange County team riders, who have left lasting impressions in pervious years, were unable to attend this year, as they've become Senior Lifeguards in the OC.
The event was a super fun 2 days of stoke, 3-4 foot beach breaks, and blazing sunshine.
Sunny Chamblee Rickard winning 1st in woman over20
Zoey Chang 2nd place woman Over20
Kealii Punley 1st Handboarding & 2nd place men Over20
Thanks to DafinHI the camaraderie between contestants and aloha spirit was in full force.
Perhaps best seen in a Instagram post between fellow Hawaiian watermen Kealii & Kanealii.
"You did hella great out there Kane! Us Hawaiians entertaining and showing Cali the Hawaiian style action. It's been awesome to have an amazing braddah like you, that keeps that bodysurfing stoke in me and everyone else. You push me in a silent quiet way to be my best when we are out there. It's weird that I can see exactly what wave u will do a bellyspin, or a barrel roll , and even a front flip. I would call it right before u do it. Thank you for all that and continuing to inspire me in and out of the water . Talented/humble/ the way you carry yourself/ and the man that you are, aloha strong" @MahaloKealii
