Slyde's always super curious about YOU & this awesome community of stoke.
We asked the following question on Facebook: Did you try surfing or surf before using Slyde Handboards?? And received a colorful batch of responses that we couldn't wait to share.
Natasha RamosHeart condition forced me to change focus. Couldn’t handle a surfboard anymore and went to handboarding. First, I got a Bōte brand one...loved it. Then saw the SLYDE brand on Instagram. Ordered a GROM board off the Kickstarter site and have been hooked since.
Owen Jacka Bodysurfed early teens then surfed late teens, then moved away for best part of 20 years, came back and although the plan was to bodysurf and surf again I've pretty much stuck to just bodysurfing.
Tish Laufersweiler Started surfing and still surf, I chose the right right board for conditions.
Michelle Michalak Grew up boogie boarding on the east coast, finally learned to surf in California, but my go to now is my Slyde Handboards. Just super convenient and gives me the feeling/glide of surfing.
Luiz Antonio Pereira When I was 13 (1969) I was given a surfboard for Xmas. It was 10’3” long and weighed a ton. I’ve only could carry it to the beach with a buddy; a 20-minute walk. My home break then, a gnarly beach break wasn’t really indicated for long boards (there weren’t mini boards then). So it didn’t take long for my selling it to my cousin and start bodysurfing. It was easier to carry a pair of fins.
Josh BallYes, it did not go so well. I️ still am in admiration of the sport but will leave it to others. I️ prefer bombing down waves with fins and a hand plane!
Nicky ShahOcean swimmer then caught a wave by mistake, now I bodysurf as well! My passion both!
Barron BradenYes, still do surf, paddle my waveski and use my Slyde handboard / handski. :-) Depends on the conditions and my mood.
