Slyde Pro-Ambassador Ben Schofieldis exploring the Dorset coastline one day off at a time.

He's latest blog entitled "The Winter Wait" will leave you frothing, frosty, and perhaps speaking in British accent.

"It’s just reached peak surfing season here. The day opens its doors to punters at 7am and shuts up shop by 5.. The winter wind howls through the harbour and along the coastline stirring  up the sea floor. The beaches  are empty except for that lonely jogger or dog walker making tracks in the sand. The sea has given up it’s warm, inviting blue and turned to a murky green making visibility in the water difficult. The bleak grey clouds overhead reflect perfectly the mood that is felt by all."

Suddenly, California winter waters feel like a warm bubbling jacuzzi in comparison.

"Being surrounded by the Jurassic coastline gives that intimidating feeling of being at the hands of mother nature. It’s at the complete opposite end of the scale from the tropical paradise pictures seen dominating  Social Media and magazine covers. The beautiful crystal blue barrelling waves, surfers in boardies and woman in swimsuits is not quite the attire you want to wear in our stretch of coastline. Prepare to stretch, bend, twist, gurn and sweat donning the unflattering 5/3mm suit and tie."
