2017 was the inaugural year of the UK Bodysurfing Championships at Fistral Beach, and was a smashing success.

The contest returns for a 2nd year September 22nd & 23rd and is open to 58 competitors from around globe (24 people in each division), who wish to compete in the bodysurfing and/or handboarding.

Newquay and Fistral Beach is the Surfing capital of the UK. Located on the north coast of Cornwall England. Overall, providing a very consistent beach break with great peaks, that occasionally get epic during westerly swells. A land of many hollow rights during lower tides.

"The 2017 Slyde Handboards UK Bodysurfing Champion was runaway winner Miguel Rocha from Portugul. Miguel again scored very highly! A well earned second place went to Jack Middleton from Cornwall, with Miguel’s compatriots Nicholas Manacas and Rui Lopes in 3rd and 4th places." Andy  of UK Bodysurfing Association.

We couldn't be more stoked to have Slyde Ambassador Owen Jacka us representing across the pond again this year.  "I'm looking forward to meeting up with fellow bodysurfers and soaking up the atmosphere. Quality of waves can be a hit or miss, but the stoke from meeting other bodysurfers, new and old is guaranteed."
