Pk's Bio

P.K. attended California Lutheran University. Originally from Lincoln, NE. he has always been passionate about the ocean - scuba diving at the age of 14 was his intro to new world under water. PK currently lives with two surfers, so you will find him on the beaches of Malibu or Ventura almost every day. Slyde on everyone!

FROM?:

Ventura, CA

D.O.B

May 9, 1994

What got you started in photography:

my grandpa got me into a camera lesson at the age of 14, so ive been interested sense then. I got really into it at the age of 18 though, as soon as i moved to California and had more to shoot than cows and corn...

WHAT PLACE WOULD YOU LIKE TO PHOTOGRAPH MOST?

heavy shore break in the north shore of Oahu or the Great Blue Hole in Belize

WHAT INSPIRES YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY THE MOST?

what inspires me to go out every morning to shoot is the fact that every shot is different. I never get the same old shot, always different light, location, wave reaction etc.

WHO INSPIRES YOU?

my inspiration comes from the people I am shooting. the happiness I see in the surfers face after crushin a perfect set is great. They are so pumped, asking me if I got the shot of their perfect moment. their excitement inspires me to get the best shot I can.

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST FEAR?:

not being satisfied with where my life is taking me

WHO WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO PHOTOGRAPH?:

Jamie O'Brien or Kai Lenny - seems like they do anything for a good shot

NUMBER ONE ON YOUR BUCKET LIST?:

photography Road trip from British Columbia, CN to Quebec, CN - lots of hikes and exploring with such beautiful land thats almost unexplored

FAVORITE WAVES TO PHOTOGRAPH?:

When I'm shooting onshore, I prefer point breaks 5-7 ft. but I won't deny an offshore 10 footer. In the water, I am satisfied with 3-4 ft shore breaks - shots turn out great even without big waves!

Favorite country to visit / want to visit:

I've been to Mexico plenty of times, but never gotten to shoot there, so that would be a first choice. I would love to shoot in the Maldives though, such clear water and the country seems friendly and welcoming.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU WON THE LOTTERY?:

First upgrade all my equipment, maybe add a few more underwater housings and lens ports for all my lenses. Buy a private jet, and begin the adventures of a lifetime with the ones i love, shooting every day.
