Successful 365 Day Waterman Challenge: For Skin Cancer Awareness

Slyde Handboards has some of the most committed brand ambassadors on the planet.

On Sept 22nd 2015 Carlos Hebert of Montreal Canada started a self imposed 365 waterman challenge, a journey in which he pledged to waveride everyday for the next 365 days.

The pledge in dedication to his father Marcel, who passed away from skin cancer. 
Growing up, Marcel and Carlos spent countless days ocean swimming and bodyboarding at Sunset Cliffs in San Diego, CA. 

A location much more inviting for the 365 challenge, than Carlos's current location in Canada.  Where the majority of Carlos's 365 days were spent handboarding in an icy Canadian river. 

The team at Slyde Handboards would like to honor both Carlos's epic completion of the challenge and his father, by auctioning of an autographed Mark Cunninghamracketeerr wedge board along with a Raw Elements USA natural sunscreen package.

The 48 hour auction held exclusively on Instagram. All proceeds will be donated to the "Save Your Skin Foundation" of Canada in Marcel's honor.

We've been in awe of his commitment since day #1 when he explained "how he just handboarded in -7F riverwater full of ice chunks."  Of course as sun lovers ourself, Slyde recognizes the importance of using sunscreen,  and hope the auction will offer education & prevention to others.
