"Part of Water" will be a documentary film by Tim Burnham telling the tragic tale of Newport Beach veteran Lifeguard Ben Carlson.

The filmmaker has been working on the documentary for the past year, to share the story of the only U.S. Lifeguard to lose his life during the line of duty.

"It's important to note why we want to tell Ben's Story. This isn't just about a tragedy in the line of duty, or a tribute to a fallen hero; this is a first hand look at a man who pushed the envelope of life's potential and who worked tirelessly to achieve a dream in the face of blatant adversity."

The 30 day Kickstarter campaign to bring the movie to life launched on April 17th 2018 and raised $25,000 in less than 48 hours.  Currently, 350 backers have pledged $36, 275.

The campaign runs through May 17th, so if you have any friends that still would like to support and receive a t-shirt or tickets to the premiere, please feel free to share. Burnham and his team can't wait to bring Ben's story and the story of Lifeguarding to the big screen.
