Slyde Handboards was celebrated as the winner of Orange County Business Journal’s Seventeenth Annual Family Owned Business Awards.

A gala event at the hotel Irvine on June 21, 2016, attended by nearly 400 guests, nominees and winners. From a prestigious field of nominees, an esteemed judging panel selected five winners in five different categories, based on their overall business success, family involvement and contributions to their industry
and to the Orange County Community.

After a series of interviews, Slyde Handboards was selected as the winner of the distinguished “Up and Coming Award” for 2016.

Slyde Handboards is extremely honored to be recognized by the
Orange County Business Journal. Receiving the Up and Coming Award validates the hard work, time and effort Slyde Handboards has invested in operating their business.

The acknowledgement by the local business community is truly an honor. Owners Steve and Angela Watts put their personal needs aside in favor of building their company. As business owners, their relentless dedication and commitment to growing their company has led to amazing opportunities.

This past year Slyde Handboards signed investment deals with billionaire Mark Cuban and A-list actor Ashton Kutcher on the television hit “Shark Tank,” gained acceptance into the highly competitive SIMA business development program, and continued working with local Orange County Organizations like the Surfrider Foundation with beach cleanups, all while running and maintaining their business. To receive the coveted Up and Coming Award for 2016.  

To be acknowledged by the local business community of Orange County is incredibly fulfilling and further inspires Slyde Handboards to grow their pioneering efforts in the handboarding industry.
