Who wants an excuse to come to Southern California this summer?!!

Slyde Handboards is calling all beach lovers to the shoreline of San Clemente California Saturday June 23rd, for our 2nd annual handboarding competition.

Whether you're a serious Slyde shredder or looking for a fun day at the beach, come hangout with some awesome people.  We promise this will be an epic summer day to remember.

Powered by Slyde and  Kaha Nalu Hawaii, and Dafin the competition will take place on Saturday June 23, 2018 on our home turf of San Clemente, California. All proceeds from the event will be going to A Walk on Water, Surf therapy through guided surf instruction for children with special needs.  The specific location is Just South Of the Pier, Offering some of the widest stretch of beach along the SC coastline, and a fun handboarding break.

"We've sponsored a variety of bodysurfing and handboarding events for the past few years, this will be the 2nd annual Handboard event  and once again we couldn't think of a better cause than A Walk on Water to share the stoke with." Slyde founder Steve Watts

In 2017 Slyde Handboards hosted the mainland’s first ever competition devoted exclusively to the sport of handboarding. Where more than 50 contestants competed in four different divisions (groms, teens, men over 20, and women over 20).

As an offshoot of bodysurfing, the contest drew a mixed bag of lifeguards, water polo players, swimmers, and ocean lovers, and a crowd of over 100 waveriding enthusiast excitedly watched.

The good vibes of the day and the future of handboarding were best captured in legendary bodysurfer Mark Cunningham's acceptance speech. “I’m stoked to be a part of this event,” he said. “I’d like to salute all our fellow competitors and especially their parents for bringing their kids down here and getting them stoked in the shore break. Mahalo to all you moms and dads out there for turning your kids onto the ocean.”

The leash works amazing i won't go out without my leash on....

Bula hand board

This handboard is exactly what I was looking for. The size and craftsmanship is fantastic! I have gotten some great rides with this board. Super fun.

Ready for the Senior Tour

I received my Slyde Phish just before 2 weeks of gloomy weather. Now that I’ve had a chance to road test it, I can’t wait to get back in the water.

Growing up in Long Island NY, body surfing was my first wave gliding experience. Typically we would drive straight to shore so surfing the diagonal has been a learning curve.

I look forward to many great sets this summer.

So much fun!

These little boards are amazing! We bought a couple to bring with us to Hawaii and had a blast.. super easy to travel with, just fit right in my backpack. Made riding the waves so much fun and worked just as good as a full sized boogie board one of my friends had. Highly recommended. Can’t wait to try it out again!

Love my Bula!

I recently been spending a lot of time on the North Shore of Oahu, and there’s nothing better than the Bula for bigger more intense surf. Too much fun brah! Mahalo nui loa!
