THE SLYDE HANDBOARDS AMBASSADOR PROGRAM WAS DESIGNED TO BE AN ALL-INCLUSIVE WHOMP CLUB/COMMUNITY FOR WATER LOVING PEOPLE AROUND GLOBE.

WE ASK ALL SLYDE BRAND AMBASSADOR APPLICANTS THE QUESTION "WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE A SLYDE AMBASSADOR" SOME PEOPLE GIVE US A SINGLE EMOJI RESPONSE...

Others like France Bodysurfer Igor Sandère response tells us a story worth sharing.

Although I grew up far from the sea (in eastern France) from the age of 8-15,
I spent my summers in the powerful waves of the Atlantic Ocean in southwest France.

Then as an adult I went to live in Britanny, which is basically a large peninsula in the northwest of the country. The location offers three sides to the waves:
The Manche sea on the north coast, which separates France from England.
The Atlantic Ocean a rough coastline on the west, and a bit tamed version on the hotter south side of the peninsula.

So for the last 15 years I have been living 30 minutes away from the north coast where the swell is smaller than on the ocean and a bit fickle. However, in the winter we can have epic sessions and often very fun times with the kids in summer.

Should I drive for two hours, I can reach some legendary spots on the ocean like "La Torche", "La Palue" or "Quiberon." The once disputed islands between France and England (Jersey and Gernesey) are also a short boat trip away from where I live and they also offer great surf opportunities.

As you can see, should I be in the mood for surfing, I don't lack options to do so. The problem is, although I feel at home in the water and in the waves with fins on my feet (playing underwater hockey for the last 8 years and swimming with fins since forever) I am still, and not for lack of trying, a very lame surfer.

Due to lack of balance, inability to stand up etc. Oh I tried, but I never succeeded and bought several boards only to resale it after I failed to get used to it even after taking lessons. Then I discovered bodysurfing!!!! Yeah, sure, I was already a decent bodyboarder, but to actually lie entirely in the waters, swimming, kicking in the waves, ducking under it, been propelled by their power and gliding along their surface with nothing but my extended hand, or a cheap handplane, was a revelation to me.

These days, whenever I can, I take my fins and my suit and I try to squeeze a bodysurfing sessions in the various trips we do with my wife.  I even managed to teach her to have fun in the waves with me. Yesterday we went together to our favorite spot with our brand new Slyde Handboards and despite the swell was next to un-surfable as it is so small this summer, we both felt like the wedge would change our appreciation of the fun we had in the wave.

The board is so buoyant, so sleek,  it allowed us to take waves we would never have ridden without it even with our usual handplanes. Honestly, I have no idea what a Slyde Handboards ambassador's job is, but one thing is for sure, in your boards I found my best ride!

I understand you don't have many riders in France and since bodysurfing is really underdeveloped in Britanny, I am bound to get a lot of questions from other surfers/bodysurfers when I'll meet them on the lineup, so if I can be of help to spread to fun, please count me in!
