The newest bodysurfing photographer to join the Slyde Handboards lineup is Lincoln, Nebraska native PK Duncan. A scuba diver at the age of 14, Duncan has always been passionate about the ocean. On any given day, you will find him sweet surf sets on his camera at Malibu or Ventura.
Duncan moved away from home to attend Cal Lutheran University in California, where his love of photography really took off. "My grandpa got me into a camera lesson at the age of 14, so I've been interested since then," Duncan said. "I got really into it at the age of 18 though, as soon as i moved to California and had more to shoot than cows and corn."
Duncan's favorite waves to photograph are 5-7-foot point breaks, and his ultimate dream is to get some shots in the shore break off the north shore of Oahu. His inspiration for his photography comes from the surfers themselves. "My inspiration comes from the people I am shooting. The happiness I see in the surfer's face after crushing a perfect set is great," Duncan said. "They are so pumped, asking me if I got the shot of their perfect moment. Their excitement inspires me to get the best shot I can."
