This my friends, is the single most emailed question we receive. (aside from maybe fan-mail for Cowboy)

We love that there’s a slew of you out there amped to represent Slyde on land and in the water.  And know that we’re always talent scouting to see who’s shredding what, and appreciate every #slydehandboards you throw up online.

But, truth be told being a sponsored team rideris a hard-fought battle that combines exceptional bodysurfing/handboarding skills along with a charming stoked personality.

All of our team riders are first chosen as Slyde Ambassadors,  and after showing off what they’re made of to the world, they may eventually become a sponsored team rider.

We view our sponsorship program like an education in stoke.

In high-school, if you want to be an honor roll student, you don’t just roll up to the principle and tell him that’s what you want.

You put in the time, dedication, and commit to getting the grades.

We want to see the same from our riders, it’s about putting in the effort and sharing your wave-riding talents and experience thru pictures, videos, blogs, interpretive dance, music, whatever makes you standout & stoked on Slyde.

What To Do:

  1. Become a shredder at your local beach, and bodysurf everything.
  2. Demonstrate how you can benefit Slyde’s team and why you want to be a part of the family.
  3. Take & Share High Resolution photos and videos.
  4. Leverage social media. Set up Instagram and Twitter accounts for you as a bodysurfer. Post only on things relevant to your bodysurfing and try to build up as big a following as possible. Tag @slydehandboards #Slydehandboards in your posts.
  5.  Enter all the handboard & bodysurfing contests you can.
  6.  Maintain good grades, manners, and a healthy lifestyle.
  7. Stay dedicated to building & supporting ocean awareness

Now that you have the breakdown of what we look for in sponsoring a team rider, we’re stoked to see what you have in store for us in 2016!

Bring on all that Gnarly Goodness! Cheers to an epic year full of adventures and stoke!

Hand slyde

The leash works amazing i won't go out without my leash on....

Bula hand board

This handboard is exactly what I was looking for. The size and craftsmanship is fantastic! I have gotten some great rides with this board. Super fun.

Ready for the Senior Tour

I received my Slyde Phish just before 2 weeks of gloomy weather. Now that I’ve had a chance to road test it, I can’t wait to get back in the water.

Growing up in Long Island NY, body surfing was my first wave gliding experience. Typically we would drive straight to shore so surfing the diagonal has been a learning curve.

I look forward to many great sets this summer.

So much fun!

These little boards are amazing! We bought a couple to bring with us to Hawaii and had a blast.. super easy to travel with, just fit right in my backpack. Made riding the waves so much fun and worked just as good as a full sized boogie board one of my friends had. Highly recommended. Can’t wait to try it out again!

Love my Bula!

I recently been spending a lot of time on the North Shore of Oahu, and there’s nothing better than the Bula for bigger more intense surf. Too much fun brah! Mahalo nui loa!
