Heal the Bay thanks Slyde Handboards.

A Very Big Thanks to You All

Woody Multi-Grain Slyde HandboardsI would like to personally thank everyone who was involved in the Heal the Bay auction that saw us auction off the signed version of the Woody Multi-Grain for a very respectable $152.00.  Thank you to everyone who participated in the auction and helped us raise the money. It is always a proud moment when you help a great organization like Heal the Bay. We all live on this planet and swim in her oceans, so we want to keep them clean. In appreciation for the help and dedication, we are giving away a VIP family pass to the Santa Monica Aquarium.  Go visit our Facebook page and find out how to win.

Below is the letter we received from Heal the Bay.  Give yourself a pat on the back for your efforts!

Dear Steve, Michelle and the rest of the Slyde Crew,

On behalf of the Heal the Bay family, I would like to thank you for your donation of $152.00 in support of the Ban the Bag Campaign, which we received on May 2, 2013.  When supporters like Slyde truly step up, l feel reassured that we have allies in our pursuit to safeguard marine life, public health and our beloved Southern California coastline. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and will make it possible for us to continue our important work.

Here are some of our goals in 2018:

  • Continue high-impact environmental education for over 100,000 adults and children annually through such programs as Key to the Sea, Healthy Neighborhoods/Healthy Environment, Creek 101, the Speakers Bureau and our Santa Monica Pier Aquarium.
  • Educate ocean users, including anglers, about the benefits of Marine Protected Areas, and monitor activities through our citizen-led Marine Protected Area Watch Program.
  • Hold dischargers responsible for polluted storm water run off that impacts water quality in the Santa Monica Bay and the health of millions of beachgoers every year.
  • Lead the charge on banning environmentally harmful and fiscally wasteful single-use plastic bags locally and statewide. Work closely with policy makers and additional stake-holders to facilitate the implementation of a bag ban in the city of Los Angeles.

Heal the Bay thanks Slyde Handboards VIP Family Pass Santa Monica AquariumAs a token of our gratitude, please find the enclosed VIP Family Pass to our Aquarium at the Santa Monica Pier. This pass will allow you to receive a special staff-led tour that reveals the behind-the-scenes secrets.
