Venice Surf n Skate Festival April 13th

It’s that time of year again!  It only seems like a few months back that we had the inaugural Venice Beach Surf and Skate Festival and Swap Meet. Time flies, and we already have the second installment only a couple of weeks away. Slyde Handboards was at the first event and we had a great day. This year looks to be even better.  Round two with the organizers is really getting a hold of the planned events.

2nd Annual Venice Surf and Skate FestThe Venice Beach Surf and Skate Festival and Swap Meet is exactly what it says. Local business and neighbors get together to share, swap and sell items from the very culture that made Venice so famous. It is a festival that brings together everything that is Venice Beach, and it celebrates the way of life that made and currently makes Venice world-renowned. Venice is a small, vibrant community that in the 70's and 80's saw tremendous growth in popularity due to the surf and skate culture of the time. With groups like the infamous Zboys and the likes of Jeff Ho and company pushing all sorts of boundaries with surf design, they took this sleepy beach town to surf and skate legendary status. The Venice Beach Surf and Skate Festival brings all the local Venice and surrounding players together to enjoy the design, innovation and creativity that makes Venice so special, and you get to have one insanely fun time.
